Ballynure Burial Ground
This site is described in the OS memoir as "...the remains of an ancient burial ground said to have been consecrated...It is locally said that on this ground the ancient church of Ballynascreen was 1st commenced to be built & that the ground walls of the church was razed c.110 years ago...all except 1 of the corner stones...the extent of the foundation was 62 x 15ft...the site is now under tillage". The last known burial at the site was c.1740. According to Mr McWilliams this site is located on high land within the townland of Ballynure, and possibly on the land of a Mr Grant, who lives on a farm in the NE of the townland.
